PLANNING A CLEARANCE

Heavy or awkward items: what to tell your waste collector

By WastePro · Published 14 October 2026

Explain size, weight where known, stairs, doorways and access before arranging a bulky-item collection.

HEAVY & AWKWARD ITEMS: BIG ITEMS. USEFUL DETAILS. Size. Stairs. Space to move.

Describe the object and its size

Send clear photos and approximate dimensions where you can measure them safely. Mention if an item is unusually heavy or if you do not know its weight. Do not guess that ordinary collection arrangements will suit every object.

Show the complete route

Include the room or outdoor area, doors, stairs, gates and the route to parking. Tell Tyler about tight corners or changes in level. These details help explain the job before a collection is agreed.

Ask what preparation is required

Discuss whether the item needs dismantling or moving to an agreed collection point. Confirm who would do any preparation. WastePro does not make a blanket promise to handle every heavy item or provide specialist lifting.

Keep the enquiry simple

You do not need to lift or reposition an object to get a better photograph. Photograph it where it is and explain the parts you cannot show. Describe any fragile surroundings or access concerns.

Agree the scope before booking

Send the postcode, item photos, dimensions where known and access details. Tyler can discuss the job and whether suitable arrangements can be made.
